Event Description:

Wildflowers abound at the refuge. Evening primrose, spiderwort, goat's rue, prairie clover, and cat's claw are just a few that bloom in June. Many grasses will also be at their best including eastern gamma, Scribner's panicum, and porcupinegrass.
The Maxwell Spring Wildflower Tour offers guided tours that last approximately 45 minutes. Visitors are taken into the prairie on a tram that allows great views of the plants and the buffalo. Guides answer questions and describe points of interest along the way.
At the tour center there are displays and a gift shop. Wildflowers around the building are marked so you may take you time and get a close-up view.
Entrance is free, there is a cost for the tram ride--adult $8, under 12 $5, under 4 free.

What to Bring: Comfortable clothing, sunscreen, bug spray, camera, and binoculars.
