The Sand Plum Bicycle Classic offers 13-mile, 28-mile, or 50-mile routes through Reno County, Kansas. This is not a race, but a fun ride for all to enjoy. Ride at your leisure. There is also a 5-mile family route available. The ride starts and ends in the Oz Gallery Breezeway at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas. Children under age 14 are welcome to ride. They are not charged a registration fee, and they don’t receive a shirt.

What will we do:
Introduction to topographic maps and how to read them
Introduction to the compass and how to use it with the map
Introduction to an orienteering map and the sport of orienteering
Short practice orienteering course
Trail along east side of the lakes connecting to the Rosewood Trail, the Prairie Trail and the Parkway Trail.

Families can enjoy shopping for nostalgic gifts or treats in the Mulvane General Store and Potwin Drug Store.
Decorate your bike with battery operated holiday lights and ride through Lawrence with the Lawrence Mountain Bike Club.
