HorseThief Reservoir is located in Hodgeman County; 9 miles west of Jetmore, Kansas. Our office hours are: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (after Labor until Memorial Day weekend); Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. (Memorial weekend - Labor Day weekend) We do take utility camping reservations over the phone We do have stand up paddle board, kayak and canoe rentals as well! We are a full recreational park that has many different events held throughout the year; such as Zombie Paintball (held every Friday & Saturday through the month of October)., The Great Pumpkin Patch, Pack the Park-Independence Day Celebration, Plow days, Shopping Markets and much more! HTR offers swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, jet skiing,and picnicking We are open for camping 365 days a year and keep one bathroom open year round as well. The Reservoir has four lodging units that can be rented out throughout the year!. We have two yurts and two cabins; two of which are for primitive campers which have no bathroom or shower, but are within close walking distance to our bathroom and shower houses. The other two rentals do include both a bathroom and shower. You may call the office to make reservations or to get the cost of each rental. We do ask for a deposit at the time of making your reservations. HTR has a community center that holds various activities throughout the year. It is available for rent. We have had family reunions, business meetings, weddings, markets and receptions held there. The Lodge is also the perfect location to hold classes of any type. Did you know HTR is known as the Sunset Capital of Kansas? We have NUMEROUS places for you to view the most beautiful sunrises and SUNSETS in Kansas. Lake goers can also come out and gaze at the stars in our wide open spaces. Wildlife is all around the area. During our hunting season; we have hunters utilize our cabins/camping sites and hunt our WIHA areas or they hunt in and around Hodgeman County. Kids love our beach area and playgrounds. They also have enjoyed our mud volleyball pits, basketball goal and horseshoe pits. We do have regular kid events; NWTF Children's Day Camp, fishing day and more. HorseThief is also home of HorseThief-The Festival which is on the calendar every second weekend in June. It is known state wide and has become one of the most popular red dirt festivals to date!. We celebrate our Country's Independence every July and have a dance, firework display over the water, campsite decorating contest, and a BBQ cookout with Friends of HorseThief. .
