Event Description:

Located in Topeka, Kansas, Kaw Valley Bicycle Club was founded in 1971. We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote a general interest in bicycling for all types of cyclists—tourists, racers, commuters, and casual riders. The club takes its name from the Kansas or “Kaw” River flowing through Topeka.

Every year KVBC puts on three major rides: the Cottonwood 200 and Capitol Classic in May, and the Bruce Whaley Spirit Ride, a charity memorial ride to benefit the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, in September. While these three rides have been put on hold this year due to COVID-19, we will be hosting a ride to celebrate our 50th anniversary as a club September 18-19, and we invite you to celebrate with us!

The ride will begin and end in Topeka both days with various routes for riders to choose from as we travel through the beautiful landscapes of northeastern Kansas. On both days you will have the option to ride either 50 km (31 miles) or 2 combined loops totaling 50 miles. All routes are on paved roads and will be fully supported with SAGs and restrooms.

Helmets are required on all KVBC-sponsored rides.
