Orienteering is a navigation race using a special topographic map to find markers we have placed in the woods. No route is marked, you choose your own adventure. This is not a compass and pace exercise. You will be challenged mentally and physically (or as physical as you wish to be). Perfect for kids, hikers and runners. Never orienteered before? We will teach you! Free for first-timers.
Orienteering is a navigation race. This is not the compass and pace exercise you did in Scouts! Instead, you are given a detailed topo map with pre-marked checkpoints. You chose the best route between checkpoints: there is no pre-determined route. Can you think and read the map on the run? Participants start at staggered time and the fastest elapsed time wins. You can also enjoy this as a casual hike, perfect for first-timers or families. This is a great way to get the kids outdoors and using a paper map (gasp!) instead of staring at a screen.
Orienteering is a navigation race through the woods. We will give you a topographical map with checkpoints marked on it; you find the best way to each checkpoint (no marked route). You can race for time, or enjoy it as a family hike in the woods. Perfect for kids of all ages. Participate as a group or individual. First timers get free entry and free introductory instructions.

Trail work is exactly what it sounds like, its outside work... And nature will inevitably get on you. Dress comfortably but ready to get a bit dirty, know that you could get sun burnt, stung by a bee or brush up against some poison ivy. We have eye protection and ear protection if you end up running a weed whip or chain saw.
And per the usual we will have some food and cold beverages for those who come and help improve our trails!
