Perry Bike Blue Trail

The Perry Lake Bike Trail is located on the west side of Perry Lake, in Perry State Park, half-way between Topeka and Lawrence Kansas. The trail was designed and built specifically for mountain bike enthusiasts. A favorite among advanced skills riders and trail runners, it hosts several competitive events each year including mountain bike, trail running and adventure races. The trail has a very rocky tread, many hills, short steep sections with tight turns, off camber, fast and technical rocky sections. Most of the trail is under a deep canopy of hardwoods.

Event Description:

Orienteering is a map adventure for all ages! Can hike or run; solo or with friends. We provide the detailed topo map and markers; you choose your own route and adventure to find the markers.

What to Bring: Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty or wet or scratched. A change of shoes and socks for after is recommended. Bring food and water if you wish. We provide map and have compasses available to borrow. We also provide electronic chip for timing.

Event Description:

Read and map and choose your own adventure on the woods at Woodridge Park! We provide a pre-marked map with marker locations, you chose the route to find them. Prefect for kids of all ages. Beginners welcome, instructions offered. Masks are required at registration and finish but not while orienteering.

What to Bring: Wear shoes and clothes suitable for hiking. You will get muddy and perhaps covered with stick tights, so don't wear you best clothes. We recommend a change of shoes/socks for after. Bring your own food and water (we are not providing refreshments due to Covid).

Or cut through the woods? You decide. Beginners welcome, instructions offered. Suitable for all ages. Can walk or hike or run, solo or with team mates. Pre-registration is required.

Event Description:

Orienteering around Lexington Lake Park in DeSoto
Intro - (2k) You will march through grassland and follow trails. There are also two wooded off-trail segments that have colored tape to help guide your way.
Intermediate - (3.5k) Trails will get you within eyesight of six of the controls. However, overlanding some legs will cut your distance considerably. Look for other handrails, too.

What to Bring: DRIVING NOTE: 91st ST has been extended to the West to fully connect Lexington Ave to Sunflower road. So if you are approaching the park from the East on K-10, you may exit Lexington Ave and go one block North to 91st St. Take 91st St West to Sunflower and you will see the park entrance. This new road does not yet show on google maps.
