Event: Take a Ride on the Wild Side

Route Distance: 6 miles or 31 miles

About the Ride: Take a Ride on the Wild Side is the first annual non-competitive bike ride that loops around Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge in Kirwin, KS. The ride begins at the community building in the town of Kirwin. There are two well planned routes to choose from: a family friendly or beginners 6 mile loop or an experienced rider’s 31 mile loop all around the reservoir. Sights on both rides will include wildlife, birds, trees, prairie, wildflowers, and the reservoir. The terrain consists of chalk roads, dirt roads and 4 miles of highway (on the longer route) and includes hills and winding roads.

Rider Services:
• Free t-shirt to all registrants
• break points with refreshments, as well as mechanical and medical support
• Complementary lunch

Saturday, October 6, 2018
• 7 am registration opens
• 8 am long ride begins
• 8:15 short ride begins
• 1 pm course closes
• 1:30 lunch closes

Location Details: Registration and lunch will take place in the Kirwin Community Building at 251 North 1st St. The ride will begin from there at 8 am.
