Summertime Celebration Walks & Swims - Valley Falls, KS

This is the last walking event of the Summer Celebration. Come early from the Holton walk and enjoy a nice lunch at Stewart's Smokehouse. The owners are offering all walkers a discount on their meal. Meet at the park anytime between 12:00noon and 2:00pm to register to walk. Stroll through this midwest town and see some very old businesses and homes. Visit the newly erected Veteran's Memorial courtesy of the Members of the local VFW. All labor to build this monument was done by local veterans. Thank them for a job well done. Visit the local Historical Society and talk with curator Frank Shrimplin who has 90 years of knowledge about the area. Stop in the Aaah Some Blossom shop that has been opened just for our walkers convenience. Hot and tired after walking, go a few blocks to the east to the newly opened swimming pool and swim with the Sunflower Sod Stompers. Finish off the evening with a stop at the Crooked Post Winery in Ozawkie KS. They have wine, beer, and oven fired pizza. Bring your own snacks.
