Event Description:

Come join us at Shelter #6 in Campground #3 for an up close look at our Live Snakes & Turtles on display. We'll bring their cages out to the campground for an hour talk and interactive lesson about snakes & turtles in Kansas. After the talk you'll have a chance to touch or hold a snake and get your picture taken!

COST...All you need is a vehicle permit to enter into the state park to come and join us. $5 if you haven't already purchased the Annual Vehicle Permit. ($25/year - valid in ALL State Parks in KS for the rest of the year.)

(Shelter #6 is at the back of the campground near the Playground! CG#3 is the 6th Left after passing the Park Office.)

What to Bring: Bring your lawn chair.

Location Details: Directions: 10 Hwy / 23rd Street / Clinton Parkway – (traveling West), through Lawrence (10 Hwy turns into 23rd Street & then Clinton Parkway – All the same road.) go as far as it will go (to the Dead- End - E900 Road) turn right, then take the second left (before by the Boat Storage lot, 1415 Road) this is our entrance to the State Park. Follow the long drive, it goes down a hill then up a hill to the pay booth. You pay your $5.00/parking permit fee there or park office right past it on the right hand side. Follow the main entrance road straight past the Park Office and then take the 6th left into Campground #3. Follow the entrance main road to the T – then take a left. You’ll see Shelter #6 to your right behind the playground– (across from the Shower House.)
