Event Description:

We'll be working on improving part of this 30-mile trail. Bring a lunch, water, and bow saws or loppers if you have them (we do have extra).

After we get reports back from winter scouting trips, a work plan will be developed and a specific meeting point designated. Our usual meeting points are either the Ferguson Road Trail Access (on the west side of Ferguson Road just north of the long bridge over Slough Creek) or the Old Military Trail Access (also on the west side of Ferguson Road, about 1 mile south of KS-92). There will also be a carpool location for those coming from the Kansas City area.

For details contact Steve Hassler at hassler@planetkc.com or 913-707-3296. Directions and other details will be added once the work plan is developed, usually about a month prior to the outing.

During the sign-in process all participants on Sierra Club outings are required to sign a standard liability waiver. If you would like to read the Liability Waiver before you choose to participate in an outing, please go to: http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/chapter/forms/ .

What to Bring: Lunch, snacks, water, drinks & hiking boots; work gloves; bow saw; loppers. We have extra tools in case you don’t have any of these items. Dress in layers for changing weather. Please do not bring any pets due to the nature of the work.
