Event Description:

RESCHEDULED FROM 4/22/17 - NOW 5/6/17
KDWPT/ Clinton State Park chapter of Fishing’s Future will host a Kid’s Fishing Derby on May 6, 2017 at Lake Henry. Children up to age 15 are invited to bring their poles (or one will be provided). Everything else needed to catch fish will be provided, to include assistance from local anglers. We’ll give you instruction, supplies and bait. We’ll let you enjoy fishing with your little angler. If you need help we’ll be there!

Registration will open at 9:00 AM, and the derby will run from 10:00 to 11:30.

There will be games, contests and prizes for all registered kids after the derby. Please Call the Clinton State Park Office @ 785-842-8562 to Pre-Register.

What to Bring: You! Fishing Chair? If you wish, you may bring your own equipment and avoid the line to wait for a fishing pole to borrow.

Location Details: Directions to LAKE HENRY: 798 N. 1415 Road Take 10 Hwy / Clinton Parkway, West until the road dead-ends (E900 Rd), Take a Right, then take the second Left into the State Park. (It comes right before the Boat Storage Lot.) Follow our long drive, down a hill and back up the hill to the entrance booth. Stop at the Stop sign. Lake Henry is a 3 acre stocked pond within the state park. After purchasing your vehicle permit you’ll take a Left and Park in a field on the East side of the road. You’ll then walk across the road to the Lake Henry paved road. Take the short hike and we’ll see you at the registration tent set up on the South side.
