Event Description:

The 2018 Kansas Archeological Training Program (KATP) will be returning to the Kaw Mission State Historic Site located in Council Grove for another year of excavation and research. Novices, amateurs and seasoned crew members will work along side professional state archeologists to learn proper excavation-laboratory techniques and to better understand the standards of ethics for Kansas archeology. College credit is also available for some activities. Participants must be at least 12 years old and are welcome to register for as many days as they wish during this two week event. For a reduced registration fee, please submit your registration packet by May 1st. Bring your tolerance for heat and dirt plus a bucket full of patience!
