Intermediate Orienteering Training
Learn a little bit more about orienteering
Hands on instruction and real world practice
Improve your skills and have fun

When:

Clinton Lake Corps of Engineers Office Lawrence KS
10 to noon, rain or shine

Who: this training is for people who have completed at least three previous orienteering courses. Training will be provided by experience Orienteer Kansas members.

What will we do:
Teach orienteering skills such as aiming off and attackpoints
Discuss race skills and strategies
Practice these skills in the woods

What should I bring?
Bring a compass, if you have one (we have some you can borrow). We will be outside the whole time, so come dressed for the weather. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little muddy. A change of shoes and socks (for after) is suggested if the weather is wet. A water bottle is nice to have.

Where:
The small gazebo outside the Corps of Engineers office
Directions: Follow Clinton Parkway west to the T-intersection with E 900 Rd. Turn right and take the first left (N 1420 Rd) to enter the park. Take the first right to enter the parking lot at the Corps Office.
