Event Description:

FHDC Members: $25 | Non-Members: $30
Scientists and artists rely on observation to learn and discover. By combining the artist's eye with the scientist's curiosity, we can develop our understanding and even unlock the mysteries of our natural world. This workshop offers students a chance to study, observe, record and embellish their impressions of native plants. Using acute observation skills, we will sketch native plants to learn about their structure and character. Using multiple art materials, we will compose paintings that capture our emotional response to the complex and diverse nature of the fascinating plants that thrive in the Flint Hills region.
Open to students in grades 7-12. No prior experience required. All course materials included with program fee. Pre-registration is required and space is limited so sign up today at www.flinthillsdiscovery.org/masters or call 785.587.2726.
