Event Description:

Discover Salina is a unique, free, yearly event that achieves three goals; it introduces young families to local history, children to nature and educates the community about a responsible and sustainable future. We highlight local businesses and area attractions that are outside the mainstream. By hand picking the exhibitors for our event, we have assembled a stimulating mix of exhibits that will benefit from exposure at our festival. 2015 will be the third year for the event.

We drew in over 2,500 people to Lakewood Park in May of 2014. This is the single largest activity ever for Lakewood Park. It was our goal to expose youth to sights, sounds and experiences they never would have encountered, except at our event. We have reserved Lakewood Park for May 3, 2015, for our free “Discover Salina Naturally” festival.

What to Bring: Come prepared to have fun, enjoy live family friendly music, eat good food and learn things you did not know you were supposed to know.

Location

250 Lakewood Drive, Salina, KS
Location Details: This one day event will be spread across the South portion of Lakewood Park. Over 60 exhibitors will be displaying exhibits to explain the history of how we arrived at this place in history, how we can learn to appreciate our natural world and how we can move forward to develop a sustainable future. The event is a corroboration of the Smoky Hills Audubon Society and the Salina Region of the Kansas Native Plant Society and their vision of an event that would get people outside enjoying the benefits of the natural world. Parking available at Lakewood Middle School.
